How much difference can there be in just one day? Here’s my answer to that . . .
Yesterday: I began the day with long sleeves and long pants, but by noon I changed into short sleeves, capris, and barefoot.
Today: Layers are needed, warm fleece, soft knits that hug, and cozy socks.
Yesterday: Bright blue skies, winds that played with the leaves still clutching their branches.
Today: Gray skies, dampness that chills, winds that howl.
Yesterday: Lounging on the patio, savoring the warming rays of sunshine while enjoying the final pages of a book, iced tea at hand.
Today: Barricaded in my office, a small space heater to take the chill off, steaming coffee at hand.
Yesterday: During the night, a sheet for a cover, occasionally tossed aside.
Tonight: A fleece blanket will be tucked close to my chin trapping the warmth.
It seems that winter has announced he is back and plans to stay for quite a while. Sigh . . . one day makes a difference.

Love the way you wrote this, Elsie. Ugh, it’s about 9 degrees here already & that is to be the high tomorrow. It dropped 50 degrees in an hour yesterday. What a drama of our weather! Keep cozy!
So true Elsie! I’m so enjoying the lovely weather we are having in New Mexico right now! What a difference a state makes!…Chicago temps are in 30’s with a snow headed their way!
I have a feeling that we are getting this change in the weather next, as we seem to be a day behind you. SIgh. I will get my fleece ready… Like the back and forthness of your post, Elsie!

I love the fall weather and I also like the winter…but would not mind if winter decided to wait a few weeks before taking over. On another note…I doubt I will be posting any more on the Slice. For some reason, my posts do not appear even though I have used the same process I have always done. I asked for advice on the ‘contact us’ and did not hear from anyone…so I just think it best I don’t participate…but will miss your posts and a few others that I enjoy reading. Glad that you were able to take advantage of yesterday and enjoy a book on the patio. Today, you can enjoy a book by the fire while snuggling under a warm blanket and sipping on a hot cup of tea. I’m hoping this cold spell won’t last long. At least there is no snow (yet)!

Our last two days here have been like your yesterdays. I enjoyed getting out to do some last minute yard work. Tomorrow promises to be like your today. Oh well…
We are going through a big temp drop here, too. On the weather tonight, they said the record for change in one day was in 1916 when the temp plummeted from 68 to 10! Guess we can put up with what we have…
I think I better get the mittens and windshield scraper ready for later this week! Perhaps it is time to get those new tires before the real snow comes!

We are getting the same thing here in northern Indiana only a day later. I am NOT ready for winter! Can’t we just skip it and go right to spring?

Yesterday was cold and dry, but light. Today was rainy and dark, but warm. It won’t be light and warm until spring. The weather. We can’t do anything about it, just have to adjust to it. Keep yourself warm!
Glad to read that the difference is only the weather – that kind of title is scary. My OK friends refuse to believe that winter is here to stay.

BTW: I recently splurged and bought some SmartWool socks. Best investment I’ve made in a long time. My feet have never been warmer or cozier!
