Top 5 Celebrations

The week began with my most joyful celebration, but first I will count them down.

5) Lunch on the patio yesterday. The weather was perfect! We enjoyed leftover quiche with a slight breeze, birds chirping, and a warm sun (not hot) to accompany the meal. We don’t get many perfect days like this.

4) A neighbor prepared a delicious dinner for us as payment for my husband trimming her bushes. It was comfort food extraordinaire.

3) Another dinner out (see reason 2). Oh happy day, no cooking for me!

Can it get any better than flourless chocolate cake and mint chip ice cream? This is the way to end a meal!

2) We celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. This happy day began with breakfast at The Aviary, a crepe restaurant in town. Yum!

1) The number one celebration were words from my son, (I’d been waiting for almost five years to hear this sentence.) “Allie’s pregnant.” Joy does not fully express how happy those two words made my world.

What a great week!

Congratulations, Elsie, all the way around. You know how to celebrate. So glad you can experience a grandchild. Keep us posted on this. The stories will come rolling in now even more!

  2. I love how you celebrate the small within the enormous joys: the food as part of an anniversary celebration, the words spoken by your son as a means of conveying incredible news. You are finding the nuggets of ordinary life that hold all the reasons to celebrate. Congratulations!

  3. Congratulations on becoming a grandma! You have many wonderful celebrations this week. The weather has been amazing. Sitting outside for a meal is one of my favorite things to do.

    Thirty-seven years! Wow!

    Your food pictures look delicious.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,
    Jen

  4. Congratulations on soon being a grandmother – how very exciting! I am starved right now and those food pictures looked delectable. I wouldn’t have thought of calamari on a grilled Caesar salad, and I love them both separately – yum! This will be a hard week to top with that many food and 1 huge personal celebrations. 🙂

  5. SO so happy for you!! I just saw a the picture of a former colleague’s 2 month old grandson, he was SOOO perfect. Happy for your son and his wife. Such JOY!
