My Space

My shelves are filled with

books,

binders,

photos,

and

stuff I need.

My desk is covered by

notes,

books,

post-its

and stuff I need.

This is my cocoon.

In this place

I grow.

I stretch.

I learn.

And

I create.

It is my space.

  1. I adore your room and desk. It’s the comforts within our busy lives. Interesting, I had thought of posting pictures of my literacy room because it is so cozy. Creative.

  2. I like the look of your cocoon! And your description of what you do there. I find I need certain things too – but not always the same for different kinds of writing. Thanks for sharing your space!

  3. “Stuff I need” Yes, I can relate to that. I try to tell my husband that when he complains about my nightstand. I NEED all those books and papers and sticky notes and things!

  4. I would like to see a close up of the bear by the window.
And I noticed the emphasis on the word “need” and “my”.
Thank you for sharing a slice of your world.

  5. There is something so personal in sharing your space this way. I love the glimpse both into your world and into the way you operate. I am a spreader too. I just cleaned up my work space as a surprise for my husband who has been out of town. I almost want to messy it up again after seeing your space. It looks so…productive!

  6. I guess there is a reason people say ” a picture’s worth a thousand words.” I feel like you told us as much about yourself in those pictures as you did in the writing that accompanied them. Thanks for sharing a glimps into your world.

  7. Wow! Nice room. I too love my stuff, and love creating that cocoon to work on becoming a butterfly. Thanks for sharing this peek into your world.

  8. Thanks for taking us slicers into your world. I love the way you crafted ordinary words into something completely extraordinary that describes you and your workspace. My desk looks just like yours… 🙂

  9. I love the “stuff you NEED” all over your desk — now I don’t feel so bad! 🙂 It’s funny that you wrote this because I’m planning on posting about my traveling cart tomorrow, kind of related!

  10. This is fantastic! I especially love your inclusion of the word “need.” Very powerful. Books and notes and photos are my life blood, so I totally understand how connected you are with your lovely cocoon. Thanks for sharing!

  11. Your book shelves rock! I want them in my home, classroom, everywhere. I love the collections you have made. Your desk is an awesome reflection of you. Thanks for the insights into who you are.

  12. I love seeing your space/your cocoon, Elsie. It’s just what I would love, too, & you’ve given me an idea for a future post! Thanks! Hope your week is a little less busy.
